A Landmark in Brunei's
Healthcare Landscape
This October, Brunei Darussalam will host the International NCD Conference & Exhibition — a global gathering of science, innovation, and community united against Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs). More than a conference, it is a call to action and a celebration of possibility, addressing the silent epidemic that touches three out of four lives in Brunei.

THEME :
Bridging Communities & Healthcare
What are NCDs?
Non-communicable diseases (NCDs), such as heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and chronic respiratory illnesses, are long-term conditions that are not passed from person to person. They are the leading cause of death in Brunei and worldwide, often linked to lifestyle and environmental factors such as diet, physical inactivity, tobacco use, and obesity. Addressing them requires prevention, early detection, and coordinated care.
Our Objectives
-
Enhance public engagement & awareness: Empower individuals and families through education, interactive activities, and lifestyle programmes.
-
Facilitate knowledge exchange & CME: Provide a platform for healthcare professionals to share evidence-based practices, research, and innovations.
-
Promote multisectoral collaboration: Foster partnerships and policy dialogue to strengthen national and regional responses to NCDs.

Why It Matters
NCDs such as heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and chronic respiratory illnesses account for three out of every four deaths in Brunei. Many of these occur in people during their most productive years. By combining science, innovation, and community action, this event aims to accelerate progress toward reducing the NCD burden in Brunei and beyond.
